Meet the #AGRI&TOUR partners: COAG-Jaén

COAG-Jaén (https://coagjaen.es) is one of the two Spanish partners in the #AGRI&TOUR consortium.
Unión de Agricultores y Ganaderos-Jóvenes Agricultores de Jaén (COAG-Jaén) is a professional, agricultural, democratic, independent, non-profit organisation founded in 1997, operating in the province of Jaén, Spain. It takes part of the regional and national structure of the Coordinadora de Organizaciones de Agricultores y Ganaderos (COAG), the first nationwide professional agricultural organisation established in Spain (in 1977) and one of the most important in the Spanish agricultural sector.
Its main goal is to defend the economic, social and professional interests of its members and clients (almost 6,000), who cultivate more than 92,000 hectares, mainly olive groves. To this end, the organisation offers a wide range of services: institutional representation at regional, national and European levels; training and capacity-building (on topics related to the agricultural sector); information and technical advice; R&D; dissemination of technical improvements; meetings, protests and advocacy activities; grant applications; event organisation; participation in international projects, etc.
COAG-Jaén has taken part in around twenty Erasmus+ projects over the last ten years, alongside 64 partners from 21 European countries, always focusing on topics related to training in the agricultural sector: agriculture and landscapes, farm succession, precision farming, cooperative farming, multifunctional agriculture, dairy products, innovative agriculture, mild intellectual disability, mental health, water management, migrants, sustainable precision viticulture, circular economy, agroforestry and animal welfare, and, in particular, entrepreneurship in the agritourism sector.
