#AGRI&TOUR, a project to boost agritourism among young Europeans
#AGRI&TOUR is the short name for #AGRI&TOUR-Boosting Agritourism with Youth Power, a 36-month Higher Education (KA220-HED) project on agritourism that has been running since December 2025 and is funded by the EU’s programme to support education, training, youth and sport in Europe (Erasmus+), with a total budget of €250,000.
#AGRI&TOUR involves five partners from four European countries: the University of Bucharest (Romania), which is the project coordinator; the Technological University of the Shannon (Ireland), Universidad de Almería (Spain), Associazione Sviluppo Rurale (Italy), and COAG-Jaén (Spain).
The main goal of the project is to boost agritourism in Europe to supplement agricultural income, within the framework of multifunctional agriculture. The main target audience is university students and young farmers (with a special focus on groups with fewer opportunities), as well as teachers, trainers, consultants, researchers, and technicians in the agritourism sector and, by extension, the rural population.
The project includes many activities, among which the following stand out:
- Market research on agritourism at national level and summary report.
- Development of microcredentials in agritourism at university level.
- Organising a summer course on agritourism (in Romania).
- Drafting scientific and informative papers on agritourism.
- Attending conferences and congresses.
- Posting a blog on agritourism.
- Providing talks to university students and young farmers.
- Creating a project website.
- Creating a project profile on LinkedIn.
- Organising round tables on agritourism (in Romania, Ireland and Italy).
- Organising a congress on agritourism (in Spain).
- Working meetings in each of the consortium countries.
